Free town hall for Tahoe owners · Thu, Oct 29 · Zoom
Starting with bookings made November 20, Airbnb takes away most of the tools Tahoe owners use to protect their homes. Required rental agreements, guest ID checks, rule-break fees and checkout chores are mostly gone. Your county still holds you responsible for occupancy, noise, bear-proof trash and the fines. Here's what to do before Nov 20.
What we'll cover
We read Airbnb's new policy line by line, next to every Tahoe county and town code, and the software companies' responses. Here's what we'll walk through.
What Airbnb allows now, what it doesn't, and the narrow exceptions: local law, HOA rules, stays of 28 nights or more.
Placer, Truckee, El Dorado, South Lake Tahoe, Washoe (Incline Village, Crystal Bay) and Douglas (Stateline, Kingsbury, Zephyr Cove, Round Hill).
Where to put your rules so Airbnb counts them, how to document what guests agreed to, what to keep on file, and why to call your insurance agent.
Asking guests to repay a real county fine through Airbnb, AirCover for damage, and which counties can cite guests directly.
We'll share every answer we get back before Thursday, plus your questions, live.

Your host
I co-host vacation rentals in Tahoe with Stay With The Saades. This town hall is for owners, whether you run your place yourself or pay a manager. Just what we found and what we're doing about it. Bring your questions.
